Change recurring membership price midway

  • Hi,

    I have a quick one, what’s the best way to change the recurring membership level price midway?

    For example:
    A member subscribe with initial payment $10, and annual payment $8. I want to change the annual payment to $5.

    Would it be fine if I change the annual price directly from membership level edit page? My concern is, how about the payment gateway? I’m using PayPal btw. Will it automatically charge $5 next time it renews? Or will it stay $8?

    Hi Dicko,

    Thank you for using Paid Memberships Pro.

    Unfortunately this is not possible, as payment gateways ‘lock’ the price as the user agreed to this price on checkout. I think it’s possible to lower the price, I’d recommend in reaching out to PayPal support to assist you with this.

    Changing the price within the membership level settings will only affect new signups or renewals.
