    Hi,

I have been looking for changing the publish date to todays date after 12:01 AM

The date should be changed after every 1 minutes to reduce any server load.

Let me know where I need to start from.

    Thank you!

Change date of what? Post being edited? All posts? Something else?

And what is the point of “changing” the date of today at 12:01 AM repeatedly all day every minute?

If you explain a little about what you’re actually trying to do, someone can better answer your question, or maybe even suggest an alternate approach.

    Hi,

    Thank you for initiating response.

I have a blog and have around 100 posts. Whenever there a new info, its updated in the respective posts. During search, Google shows them as 4 days old …. 8 days old depending upon the post updated.

What my idea is to update the post in periodic manner so that I dont get more than 2 days old in search engine results.

    Hope I have clearly explained.

That’s not going to work the way that you want it to. If googles search bots continually see the date changing on that page they’ll flag it and look at it very critically to determine just why the date published is different every time they index the page. They’ll also flag questions about the incoming links ot the page – how could a page have links to it from a few weeks ago when the date says that it’s only a day old? Those sort of questions that there’s no reasonable answer to has a very good chance of hurting that page long-term.

There’s no SEO advantage to having something listed as “2 days old” in the search engine results. You’re more likely to get better results by having that page up and running for a longer time. It will seem like a more authoriative page rather then something that’s just been thrown up now.

If you are really worried about this (but there’s no reason to be) you would be best off editing your template files to remove the date that it was posted. That way that information won’t be shown and there won’t be any of these issues.

Thank you for explaining, so if I remove the “Published on XX-XX-XXXX” from my template, the date will no longer be visible?

Yes that’s correct. But be aware that the bit of code that does that migth be in a few different places. This depends completely on your theme and how it’s templates are organised.
