Change primary nav behavior – make parent clickable, expand on hover?

  • I like the style and transitions of the navigation menu, but it would be helpful for me to display my navigation like

    About
    – Contact
    – Commission

    and have the “About” link still work, rather than needing to do

    About
    – Bio <===
    – Contact
    – Commission

    Currently, the only thing clicking on “About” does is open the rest of the links; which is great, but if it’s a parent page I’d like it to take just one click to navigate to. ?? Then clicking the arrow could trigger the children being shown, or even better, hovering over the top menu item.

    My site is currently just using a plain Navigation widget, but here’s the demo of the original template that shows the menu.

    Is this something that’s possible?
