Change Podcast URL

    Hello,

    We’re looking for an easy way to change the podcast XML address. The website is hosting the podcast only. So basically all posts are podcast episodes. We thought it would be better to have a URL like this:

    https://domain.com/feed

    OR

    https://domain.com/podcast

    Obviously those two are reserved by either WordPress or Seriously Simple Podcasting. But would there be an easy way to change the podcast URL? We couldn’t find much documentation on this. Thanks!

    Hi Zettt,

    Thanks for the message. As you mentioned the two URLs you’re looking to use are reserved for both WP and SSP as the main site feed and the podcast archive page respectively.

    Modifying the former would mean working on the WP core, which nobody recommends. Modifying the latter would involve forwarding the current feed URL to whatever URL you choose. This can be done in the Podcast -> Settings -> Redirection area. I can’t say that I would encourage this unless you have a specific reason to do it, but that’s how it would be done.

    Thank you, Craig for the answer. I’m just looking at this page, and it says “new feed URL”. Doesn’t this mean the feed address, which we enter here, is not going to have a new URL at all, but instead the XML is going to have the newfeedurl tag added to it only?
