Change permalink separator

I’ve never seen a wordPress blog do this.. Why would this be important?

I don’t think it is very important to be honest but I have to ask since it was asked of my client and I can’t find a solution.

I plan on suggesting that they let it go, though it might have something to do with SEO or the fact that they are switching an existing site to wordpress and that is how their current structure is.

Either way I had to ask the pros before I suggest that they drop the issue.

If their current site uses that structure, that’s understandable.. if it’s for SEO purposes, then I don’t think that this will affect their ranking much.

If their site is not very big, what you can do is set a redirection on the old links to the new structure, that way nothing will break, but that will only work if their site isn’t too large. Creating hundreds of redirects wouldn’t be good.

Hopefully someone else will come along and provide feedback. I’m not entirely sure if getting that desired permalink structure is possible.

I’m going to try to convince them that redirection (if needed) is the way to go.

I’ll leave the top “unresolved” for the day just to see if there is another solution but I’m pretty sure it isn’t possible (then again I’m pretty new at this).
