Change password option

We are using the Active Directory plugin in our WordPress sites so that all of our internal users will have access to the site using their AD logins. We’ve tested the download, and it worked perfectly. Because we don’t want to jeopardize password integrity, we’ve disabled the change password option in the plugin – this also disables the ability to create a password and use the Lost Your Password link on the login screen, which again is what I would expect.

However, we also have external users that we are downloading from our support tool. These users will need to create a password, and we want to provide them users with options to create or change their password, and use the Lost Your Password feature.

Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the password functionality for some users and enable it for others?
