change order of mult-iselect field options

    Hi,

    If one changes the order of the options in a multi-select field does that have any negative or adverse effect on those members who answered that question until that point?

    For example:

    if the multi-select options are:

    oranges
    apples
    pears
    grapes

    and we change the drop-down order to:

    pears
    cherrys
    apples
    grapes
    oranges

    I changed the content of a section and it disapeard for alla existing users. They couldn’t see the whole section.
    For new users nothing happended. They could fill in the section with the changes I made.

    I don’t know if the issue was fixed or not.

    Hi,

    When you state you changed the content, please clarify if you’re referring to the options listed in the multi-select field? You changed the options listed in the field and the data was lost afterwards?

    My section was about educational achievements and was a drop box. When I change the alternatives in the box the whole section disapeared for the existing users. Fortunately the site was still in test mode so no harm was done. I learned that when I release the site I’m not going to do any changes.

    I advice you to test the changes in a copy so you won’t have any problems.

    No, it should be fine. In fact, if you don’t update the profile it will still be showed in previous order.
