change order of blocks

    Yesterday I created a basic blog post using the Blocksy theme with some images floating left and some right. But I noticed that in the mobile view that the images did not appear under the correct paragraph. It was suggested that I try out the Generate Blocks plugin so that I could change the order of the blocks in mobile view.

    I am testing it now so I don’t have a url but I can’t get the desired effect. For my test I put each paragraph in a separate container and put the image in another container set to float left. When I view it on mobile it appears above the paragraph when I would rather it appear below. I tried changing the order of the blocks as shown in this post but my guess is I am missing something since it doesn’t change anything. Any help would be great.

    Hi there,

    controlling the order a block is displayed in is only possible in GenerateBlocks if you its Grid Block or Container Blocks Flex Layout options.

    The methods that these use do not work with Floated Images, and you would not get the same result ie. the text wrapping around the image.

    Instead you should be able to do:

    1. select the image block, and remove the float left
    2. position the image block below the paragraph where you want it to appear on mobile
    3. re-apply the float left

    It may mean compromising its position on desktop but that is how Floats work and theres little you can do to change that.

    The only alternative is to have one image for desktop in one place and another for mobile….
