Change of permalink for shop categories leads to 404 errors

Your URLs conflict. The category base needs to be unique so WordPress knows what to display.

Thanks for the reply… I did some tinkering last night and now have the Category Base blank and the Product Category Base set as /shop.

I am trying to have the following permalink structure in my Woocommerce area:

Main shop page:
https://www.westminstertech.com/shop

Product category (example name = ii-music):
https://www.westminstertech.com/shop/ii-music

Specific product (example name = ii-music-software):
https://www.westminstertech.com/shop/ii-music/ii-music-software

I have gotten everything to work to the product category level, but can’t find the right setting for the specific product level. I keep getting 404 errors or the permalink isn’t correct.

How do I get this to work as I have detailed?

Thats the conflict.

/shop/ii-music
/shop/ii-music/ii-music-software

WP cannot tell if ii-music-software is a category or product.

Change the category base shop/category/ or remove shop.

On the product category base, add something unique between /shop/ and /%product_cat%/

OK. Thanks Mike, I’ll give that a try. Si are you saying it simply is not possible to have the prrmslinks set the way I was hoping?
