    Hi.
This plugin works fine for me. Thank you very much. I have a question.

We are going to change the domain name from domain1.com to domain2.com, but I don’t want to lose work of our affiliates (they have affiliate links in their website)

So what is the best way to do the redirect that affiliate links would work the same?

I have more than 200 affiliates and some of them are working very well, therefore I need to find a way to redirect their links to the new domain without loosing their IDs. Thank you very much.

Hi, I think your best option is to notify your affiliates about the new changes to your site. Get them to sign up again using the new domain name. This would eliminate any issues that might arise in the future from changing the domain name.

    Kind regards

Thanks for your reply, but this is the easiest way.

I think 200 active affiliates is not so easy to notify and get them to sign up again. You think there is no another way to do it ? With kind of “special” redirections?

Hi, I am not sure myself. Of course the ideal action would be to create a redirection rule. However I am not sure if adding a redirection rule would work well with the affiliates members accounts.

I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your issue.

    Thank you

Add a 301 redirect to your existing domain so the links the forwarded to the NEW domain with the affiliate ID in there. You can apply the redirection in the htaccess file of your old domain. You hosting provider can help you with settings up that redirection.

So for example, the following link:

    domain1.com/?wpam_id=1

Will get automatically 301 redirected to the following:

    domain2.com/?wpam_id=1

That way all the existing links will continue to work fine.
