• Hi, new here!

I was almost done with my website, I changed the primary domain and now the appearance of some elements changed and I have no clue how to fix it.

    Example:

The images in the “blog posts” block go beyond the content size. Same for the youtube videos block. And in the “media and text” blocks the images and text are not side by side but stacked.

Can anyone advise? How come changing the domain resulted in these changes?

    Thanks

    Hi @alicedegaetani,

If this issue started after you changed your domain, this is likely unrelated to the theme and an issue with your migration or domain change.

Have you done a search/replace for the old permalinks on your database? If you only changed the URL on WP Admin, you would also need to change the permalinks to everything else.

Here’s an example of how you can do that: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-properly-move-wordpress-to-a-new-domain-without-losing-seo/

    Thanks for your reply!

I tried the search/replace and nothing was found and hence replaces. Any other suggestions?

Also, I didn’t mentioned before the I see the website correctly in the editor. But the actual website looks different.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Hey @alicedegaetani – I notice when I check the site now that it is looking alright – did you manage to resolve this issue?

If not – what I’d suggest is installing and activating the Gutenberg plugin. There’s a known issue with migrations (and potentially domain changes) which has a fix in the Gutenberg plugin.
