Change, not create themes while under XAMPP

Check the folders
When you open the bluehorizons theme, you should see some files, one of which is style.css
If you just see another folder, thats the reason.

bluehorizons has 8 php’s, 1 styles.css, & 1 images folder in it, this is from the Presentation Page:

You can find additional themes for your site in the WordPress theme directory. To install a theme you generally just need to upload the theme folder into your wp-content/themes directory. Once a theme is uploaded, you may activate it here.

The classic & default folders were the only thing in the themes directory before I just added this bluehorizons folder, I assumed it was the whole folder because of the sentence above & the fact that that is all that was in there already, 2 folders, but yes, they all have a styles.css file in them. The bluehorizons comment section showed that people were using it so I assume it works, which is why I’m sure I need to set something else on my end, perhaps because I’m under Xampp right now. Anything else? TIA.

Once I have downloaded a theme into the wordpress/wp-content/themes folder in MyDocuments… where I kept the different versions of WP downloads.
However, my local install was of course in
apachefriends/xampp/htdocs/wordpress – and I was wondering for a while why the new theme didn’t show up in my admin panel ??

Thx, I knew I was working local but when I went there I didn’t go inside the htdocs folder, so I assumed it was something else, I’ll do better next time! I appreciate it.
