    Hi there

While using a tool to share posts on social media, and as I checked the HTML code of the URL (attached https://ibb.co/S3T5NzS) noticed an issue

    1) There is no <meta property=”og:image tag which tell spiders/bots the image URL of your page.

    2) The tool’s spider/bot also checked twitter meta tags too. And the page (other posts also) support an image via twitter meta tag.

    3) Now, the problem is that my twitter meta tags in wrong format. The tool developers suggests that It should be like this: <meta property=”twitter:image” content=

    4) Fixing this issue it will allow the tool’s spider/bot to fetch the image which is needed for sharing.

Can you please suggest how to fix this issue?

    Best,

    Hello @eddievet,

Thank you for reaching out to us and bringing your concern to our attention.

This is because you are using webp format as your image source and by Opengraph standards, this is not allowed, even in our plugin.

Please ensure that the image file format you are uploading is only between jpeg, gif, or png as per OpenGraph Standards.
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/#images

Also, make sure that your images are using the recommended image size. Recommended image size is as close as 1200 x 630 pixels.

    Hope that helps.

Hi and thanks for your fantastic support

I went through some searches to know which image formats are supported (taking in consideration your suggestions) by Opengraph and found out in the link below that webp are supported by twitter, fb etc

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks again!

    Hello @eddievet,

Sorry for the confusion. Facebook has started supporting WebP for OpenGraph tags and we will also add the support for WebP in our plugin soon. You can keep an eye on our changelog to get notified: https://rankmath.com/changelog/

For now, please use a supported format to generate the OG tags with our plugin.

Let us know if you need any other assistance.
