Change Meta (Custom) field code/ short code

I looking for a way to update some custom(meta) profile field I have created, is there away to change these programmatic.

eg

setName(“custom field”,”new data”, ID”);

Also, is there a way I could set the profile image

eg

setAvatar(“img URL”, ID”);
