    Hi,

I am currently maintaining a customer’s website, and I would like to change the name of a menu item. The site is https://ecoholos-institut.org/ and i’d like to change the submenu link “ecodemos” in “üBER UNS”.

Now I already tried a few things so far but to no avail:
    – edited the page’s name to “ecoholos”, that only changed the heading of the page.
    – looked for a menu in “design” – a menu has not been added
    – I dug through the .php files but couldn’t find any menu items
    – looked up the database entries in phpMyAdmin, found nothing
    – I also was looking for a cache to empty, but I don’t think there is a cache, is there? (Not talking ’bout the browser cache)

The page is running a Thesis 181 template.

I’m fairly familiar with the concept of a CMS, I’m into Joomla though. I know my way around php, mysql, html/css but I have never worked with WP before. Please could you help me find the location where I can rename menu items? Can’t be that darn hard…

    Thanks
    AO

  • Check WordPress_Menu_User_Guide
When you open up ecodemos menu item check what’s written in Navigation label field

Thank you for your effort, but that is not helping, since there is NO MENU defined in the “Appearance”-Menu. The menu seems to originate from somewhere else, but from where?

I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial themes here.
    Try https://diythemes.com/

    RTFM (says the author) ??

oh okay. I wil try and ask them…
Dont be fooled: I did try to read the FM. But I always ended up with the “Appearance”-Menu, which, as esmi just pointed out, does not effect my kinfd of problem. So please only bash if there is a valid reason to do so (sayz I) ??

alright alright, I admit: I should have read TFM: Excerpt:

“and if you really want to get crazy, you can even edit the display text on each item.”

So to sum it up and put an end to my odyssey: Just double-click on the effin’ Link in the Thesis Backend Menu you want to change and hit the keys… Simple as that.

    Thanks guys
