Change "LOGOUT" portion of Login|Logout link

I’m using the “Login | Logout” link in my header.
Instead of showing “LOGOUT” when a user is logged in and logging them out when it’s selected, I would like the link to read with the current user’s name and not link to anything.
How can I do this?
I’m very new to coding so screenshots on where and what to change the code to will really help!
