After activating the “Change Login URL” option to a new url, the remember me feature does not work any more. It does not remember my succesfull login. I always have to login again after a new session.

I tested on Firefox and Safari and “Remember Me” seems to be working just fine. Once logged in, I closed the browser tab, and completely quit the browser app. When I reopen the browser and go straight to /wp-admin/ in a new tab, I’m still logged-in.

Were you logging in on an incognito / private browser window?

Same here, for instanse other plugin when you insert new url then if you log out and put /wp-admin it will redirect you to error 404 (which is correct) but This one doesn’t do anything still go for wp-admin or wp-login.php, even though Ive tried it on incognito. thanks

@esedigital that’s a different issue than the topic of this thread, but that’s strange. If you’ve enabled custom login URL, going to /wp-admin/ or wp-login.php should take you to a /not_found/ 404 error page. Do you have another plugin that’a also active and modifying the login URL / behaviour somehow?

Oops sorry but kinda similar topic but yeah there is no other plugin install its’s weird. I have siteground hosting and wordfence (free version) which doesnt include the change login url

Could be another plugin that’s causing the weird behaviour. If you test on a fresh site and only ASE installed, e.g. via InstaWP, you should see the intended behaviour works fine. So, could be another plugin or a code snippet in your site that’s causing the issue?

I’m afraid not, I have desactivate all the plugins except ASE and still doesnt work well, like if I configure “/login” but I put “wp-admin” it will not show error but redirect me instead… the correct way is only will show the login form when you put the correct url if not it will always show error 404. Will be so happy if this can be fixed as I like this plugin it has good potential.

Why do you use ‘login’ and ‘wp-admin’ as the custom login slug?

I said I configure “/login” but when I logout and put /wp-admin for test, it does not show error 404, it will still show login page and even I type my custom url still redirect to “wp-admin” url

Right… why use ‘login’ as the custom login slug?

why not? it should allow me to put most of the link no? other plugin allowed it, I dont see why it shouldnt. It’s alright if you guys dont consider as important to be fixed as i already mentioned it’s just doesn’t work all the webs that we have.

Because the goal of changing login URL is to make it harder to guess, and thus, hide it from potential hackers? Of course you’re free to use what you want, and this is noted as a bug for now.

    Dear qriouslad,

These are the steps I take:

I tried /wp-admin directly and it resulted in ‘page not found’. Seems okay.

I tried /new-slug and it shows login page. Seems okay. Logging in also works (and I used ‘remember me’ option). Then I go, after some browsing in the admin of WP, again to /new-slug (as I would also do when I re-open my browser). I expect it will sign-in automatically (and go to the dashboard WP) because I did not logged-out. This does not happen. I see the login page and I have to re-login again.

@boah123 I see what you mean now. I was able to replicate it. Will try to fix in the next release.
