  • Hi Matas,

The plugin will make use of the language file that corresponds to the language you have your WordPress site set to. Make sure you have your WordPress site set to the language you want by going to Settings > General > Site Language.

Hi, I have a relevant question.

My WordPress site is multilingual using Polylang plugin. When I change the language e.g. to Greek language the catalog isn’t translated..

    Hi Jon,

There is a Greek translation file included with the plugin. However, it was submitted by a user and we can’t guarantee that it’s complete or accurate. That being said, if Polylang makes use of these translation files, then what will be translated will be any labels on the front end and in the back end that have been included in the translation file (by the user who did the translation). It will not automatically translate any content that you’ve written in. Also, if you want the translation file to work correctly, you need to make sure that you have nothing entered in any of the input fields in the “Labelling” area of the “Options” tab (as that will overwrite the localization in the plugin code).

    Hello again,

I am aware that the content won’t be translated. I am referring to the titles like “Sort By: Name(ascending), Categories etc..”

I tried WPML plugin to translate my site but the product catalog isn’t still translated!

I haven’t filled anything in the inputs at the Labelling” area of the “Options” tab.

    Hi Jonhh,

With WPML, is anything translating at all? If only part of the catalog is translated, then it could be that the Greek translation is only partially complete.

All the other content in the page is translated.
but All the content of the plugin is still in English..

    Hi again,

You were right, the strings that I was seeing weren’t translated!
I used String translation from WPML and I managed to translate them.

    thanks

    Hi Jon,

Good to hear. Thank you for following up.
