    My site has jetpack installed.

It has a cron job that seems to run every 4-8 minutes. As the site is not very busy this takes up about 10-15% of my site traffic.

I believe that this cron job is created by jetpack and wondered how I could change the schedule from 4 mintes up to 60 minutes or so.

Any suggestions how I can change the jetpack cron schedule?

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

If you use Jetpack’s “Display WordPress Posts” widget, a cron will indeed run every 10 minutes to refresh the list of posts displayed in the widget.

Jetpack also runs 2 other cron jobs (to clean up transients created by the Protect module and to synchronize some of your site’s options to WordPress.com), but these 2 jobs run daily, so that’s most likely not what’s causing the issue here.

There is, however, one more module that may be at play here; the Monitor module pings your site every 5 minutes to check if it is accessible. If it’s not, and if it stays unreachable, we send you an email to let you know your site is down.
You won’t be able to change the frequency of the pings though; we do not offer that option, as changing the frequency could make the tool a lot less useful as it wouldn’t warn you as quickly when you site becomes inaccessible.

If the monitor pings are bothering you, I’m afraid I can only recommend that you go to Jetpack > Settings in your dashboard and deactivate the Monitor module.

    I hope this clarifies things.
