    Hi

I switched on ‘Image resize detection’ and have optimised the size of the product images as per the recommendations.

The changes haven’t been recognised, when I refresh the page it still says I need to resize the images.

I’ve checked in my media library and they’ve definitely been resized.

Any idea why this is happening?

    Thank you!

    Hello @haldahita ,

Could you show on the screenshot what images Smush is showing as needing resizing (also to what size)?
Also please tell me to what image size you have applied changes when you were resizing images?

    kind regards,
    Kasia

    Hi Kasia

    Thanks for replying.

The Olivo infinity scarf in cyclamen is one of the images it says needs resizing.
It says the current image size is 600 x 637 and it suggests resizing it to 225 x 239.

I changed the image size to 225 x 239 in my media library. I wasn’t sure if I needed to reattach the image on the product page so I did this anyway just incase.

I refreshed the page but it’s as if I didn’t change anything. This is happening with all the images I change.

It has only picked up the change for 1 image – the picture of the boxes on this page: https://haldahita.co.uk/

    Thanks so much

    Nina

    Hi @haldahita,

Can you please share a screenshot of the resizing suggestions because Smush resize widget is available only to admin users so as a visitor we can’t see this.

Did you made sure that you’ve cleared cache in any caching plugin and in your browser so that the changes are visible on frontend?

    Cheers,
    Predrag

    Hi

I have screenshots but can’t see any way of uploading them to this thread, do I need to do it in a different way through this message box?

    Thank you!

You can use Google Drive, Dropbox or any such cloud services to share a link to the screenshot in the next reply.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Hello

Here’s the link to the 2 screenshots.

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jzFmLxGAsUpn2jTWWsHdb3KqeMylMmtM?usp=sharing

One shows the recommendation for reducing the file size on screen, the second shows the image in my media library.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi @haldahita,

Thanks for sharing that, it seems that your images are served from CDN so that could be what’s serving incorrectly sized image.
But even if I check the direct URL of the image that CDN is using, this one here https://haldahita.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Olivo-Avocat-final-600×637.png I can see that it’s a 600×637 thumbnail that loads properly which means that this size still exist on your installation.

I would suggest getting in touch with your theme developers and ask them to define image sizes for product thumbnails that would match the HTML holder of those images, you can read more about that here:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/image-sizes-theme-developers/

Thanks so much for your help, I’ll contact the theme developers as you suggest. It seems like I have quite a restrictive theme.
