Change Image title from h2 to h3

Hello,

I use Visual Portfolio with over 600 individual saved layouts on a clients website (link attached). I utilize the Classic Skin to display the image title and caption text.

I would like to change the image title from h2 to h3. I found the source code: (visual-portfolio/src/templates/items-list/item-parts
/title.php) But every time the plugin is updated, I would have to manually change the file each time. How else can I accomplish this?
