• Hey everyone! I need some help

Yesterday I was on the phone with dodaddy canceling one of my hosting account and merging all my domains to the delux plan I have when all hell broke loose at Godaddy. Their website went down and the support could not help me any more. Today I tried getting help but they just did not understand what I was trying to do.

I had a website on a different hosting account with them. I downloaded all of the files through FTP locally and changed the Domain to my new hosting account. I uploaded all of the website files to the directory when my domain is pointing to but my website is not working.

My domain is anappthatsmine.com Error establishing a database connection

  • As long as you have that database backup, you have your content. It’s just how to get it back into a GD site that’s the issue at the moment.

Thats what I thought. I tried uploading the sql to the database but it gives me an error that the table already exist. Should I try creating a new database then editing the config file to point to that one?

The backup should include the create table queries. Try making a copy, opening the copy in a text editor and looking for CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS.

I dont see that. all I see is CREATE TABLE ‘WP_slider’ (

There is a bunch of those

it gives me an error that the table already exist

    What table was that for?

    the first

    Which was…?

    just a slider

What was the table’s name? You shouldn’t have any tables for plugins already in place on a fresh install.

Hey I finaly got someone on godaddy that knew what he was talking about.

He is recovering my database and moving it to my account and walked me throught what I needed to do to set it up once its done.I really hope it works. I just imoprted all of my files fresh again and set the config file to my new database they are setting up for me. You think this will work?

It sounds very hopeful. Let us know how you get on.

For the future reference, if you want DB / site backup, use the xCloner plugin, which is very helpful with site moves.
Changing nameservers with the domain, sometimes could take about 24 hrs.
