change home to non-blog page? secondary problem also see thread
-
Hi,
Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong location.Secondly, I am so so rubbish at the tech side of things so please be gentle with me. Start talking with jargon and I’m totally lost. It’s not your fault, it’s mine – but please be kind and clear. Imagine you are talking to a child, and a not very bright one at that.
SO – the issue at hand.
I have a wordpress site I wish to use for an low level ecommerce (i.e. some home made stuff I want to sell).I have shopkeeper theme and a few plugins which I use.
My problem is this: my front page/ home page is a blog page. you can see it at limbogumbo.co.uk.
But I can’t seem to “find” that page in my wordpress dashboard in order to edit it with visual composer (which comes included in shopkeeper theme). All I can do is edit it with the standard blog options that come with most wordpresses. How can I make a home page which is limbogumbo.co.uk/home and have it editable with visual composer and make that become the main page you get to when someone goes to my website?
OR alternatively
How can I just turn limbogumbo.co.uk in to a non-blog website page so it can be edited with visual composer and have things other than blogs on it??
Please bear in mind, I overtyped the URL yesterday and completely killed my website like a total idiot. I had to get my hosting company to revert my website to what it was like at that point 24 hours previous, so am genuinely frightened of touching anything too serious.I also have a secondary issue which I noted as a result of this ‘reset’ that I had to get done, and that was that I have two other domains – limbogumbo.uk and also limbogumbo.com.
However, when I go on those websites, the trolley icon in the top right and the twitter, Facebook and instagram icons don’t show up. Why is that?If anyone needs anymore details to help Me The Dullard, please give me a shout and I will try and and explain anything further.
