thanks that worked, just one more thing would like to not show the blog or comment on all pages

Not sure what you mean by “not show the blog” but you can turn off comments via Settings->Discussion. Then switch them on for specific Posts or Pages as you want.

I don’t see turn off comments in the Settings->Discussion section

Look under Default article settings->Allow people to post comments on new articles

that is not checked off, the the comment boxes are still coming up.

Check that you haven’t allowed comment on individual Posts/Pages.
