Change header size on different pages

  • Hello,

    I’d like to be able to make the header image on the home page very large, basically fit a full screen like it is now, and then have a much much narrower header image on all other pages, about 80% smaller.

    I’ve messed around with some custom header plugins like Elementor but they seem to get rid of the small hamburger menu and force me to make a regular menu.. is there a code I can use to make the header smaller?? Or some other way I can achieve this while still keeping the hamburger menu in the same place?

  • Hello,

    To set a post/page specific header, you need to use OceanWP settings metabox.

    Edit a page/post > OceanWP settings metabox (below the editor) > Header tab and select a header different header or a custom header.

    Thanks for that, managed to figure out where I was going wrong the first time, I needed to download the elementor full screen menu plug in… but now the menu keeps breaking on every page but the home page.

    I have two custom headers, one for the home and one for every other page. The home is working but the one on all other pages glitches and won’t go to a hamburger. It looks fine in the builder, it only breaks when viewing the live page. I’ve tried deleting it and recreating from scratch and it breaks.. and tried just having a hamburger menu with no other elements in the header and it still breaks..

    Try to disable Disqus Comment System temporarily. Clear cache and reload the site. Let me know it fixes the issue or not. Also, try to disable/enable other plugins one by one to check for a possible conflict.

    I’ve disabled every plug in except for Elementor, cleared cache and reloaded but it’s still broken.

    Can you please tell me the steps to replicate this issue? I need to check it first on my end to see why it is not working.

    Just to note, I tried some other full screen menu plug ins which also broke everywhere but the home page so I don’t think it’s elementor itself.

    I also briefly tried applying the Home Header to a regular page. The Home Header breaks on all regular pages, but still displays correctly on the Home page.

    I then tried to apply the General header to the Home page and it did not break.

    I created a new, completely blank page and only applied the General header and it still breaks on there. https://honeyandtheend.com/test-page/

    I just checked this issue and have the same problem. Right now I don’t have a solution for it but I will surely check it on my end to find a solution.

    @taimoor615 yes, you can do it. Edit a page/post > oceanwp settings metabox > header tab and select a header.
