change header in 2010 theme

    i want to replace the header image on my site. i am currently using the default 2010 theme.

    i want to change the header image to a photo slider carousel with hyperlinks to my recent blogs..

    is this possible ?

    and if so how do i do it , and can anyone recommend a suitable slider???
