Change header image

Trying to change the header in a wordpress site. Nothing I’ve read has helped me get it done. I’m sure it’s really obvious but so far…not to me. So if you can help it would be great but don’t assume I know anything cause I don’t. If you don’t state every step I end up in the wilderness. Thanks if you can help…E
