Change Google Search Result Attribute

    I hope all is well.

    I’ve just received a request from one of my clients and I am not sure if this is something that can be done, or if there is a setting inside of Rank Math that lets me adjust it.

    They want to change an attribute inside of the Google Search Results page to not show the URL of the website, but instead the name of the website.

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

    There are various sources that Google uses to define your site name on SERPs. For example, the content in og:site_name meta tag, in the schema, etc.

    Hence, we’d suggest you follow the guidelines by Google we’ve shared below to let Google pick the correct site name for your site.

    First, go to WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > Title & Meta > Local SEO and set the website name and organization name for your organization, and click “Save Changes” to set the organization/local business and WebSite schema.

    The other option is going to your WordPress > Settings > General > Site Title and tagline.

    Please note that it’s still not guaranteed that your site name will come up correctly in Google SERPs since it’s solely decided by Google what they found relevant and user-friendly and which one they want to show.

    The best you can do is to follow the guidelines by Google strictly: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/site-names

    i just lanced a new website and after 1 month have a same problem. i set site name in rankmath local section and edit the wordpress setting but still the website url have shown in SERP instead of site name!!!

    To ensure that your Sitename is showing on the search results pages, please ensure that you have followed all the guidelines of Google.

    Moreover, please note that it is completely up to Google, and even if your site has followed all the guidelines, they can still decide to show a different or no site name.

    You should keep working on improving your site’s content quality and authority to increase the chances of your site name appearing in the SERPs.
