    Hello,

I noticed that the output for the Google Merchant feed for the <g:availibility> attribute is “in stock” for products in stock.

But, I noticed in Google’s documentation that the correct value and the only that is supported is “in_stock”.

Is there a way to change “in stock” to “in_stock”?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

It indeed seems as Google has changed its requirements for the availability field. We have therefore just pushed out a new version of our plugin that should solve the issue at hand.

Can you update the plugin and give it a try?

Great, seems to have updated just fine!

    Perfect, thanks for the heads-up

    Hello

This new update has caused my feed to be rejected by Facebook/Instagram since they expect to have availibility as “in stock” and not as the new “in_stock”
how can i fix this for facebook ?

Facebook is using the product feed requirements of Google (Shopping). So when Google changed its requirements for the availability field (with underscores) we assumed that Facebook did the same and would also accept those underscore values. Apparently they do not (yet) so we have just reverted this for Facebook. Just update the plugin and you should be fine again.

Please do not jump into other topics and detract from their problem. If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum FAQ, please post your own topic. A lot more people will see your post, and that way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole. Your post will be archived.

I updated the plugin as said, but my in_stock is still showing like that. What in the dropdown do I select to get it to say “in stock”, as Facebook says they are going to block my feed with all these new errors.

is there a custom availability option I need to select? “Availability” is NOT the one.

You can set a “rule” with Facebook to rewrite “in_stock” to “in stock” for the availability node. In fact, when Facebook processes your feed, you may see it will actually recommend this rule and write it if you affirm you want it. As an aside, unfortunately, there is no such rewrite capability with Pinterest, which also uses the same Google feed.

Our plugin only puts in underscore’s in the availability values for Google Shopping feeds. When you select “Facebook Catalog Feed / Instagram” as channel during configuration of your feed it will just put “in stock” in your feed. So just make sure to select the proper channel during configuration.
