    Hi @playersleaguebasketball,

Are you using a Shortcode to show the Event List?

    Thanks,
    Savvas

    Hi Savvas,

Sorry but I don’t know what that is.

    Lachlan

Are you using the Champions theme? (or a child theme based on it)

I have the same problem with a child theme based on Champion and the advice is to update that theme and check with the theme developer if still an issue. I’ve not had a chance to try it yet though. Perhaps this weekend.

    Hi Eugene,

I am using Rookie theme which was recommended by SportsPress and have the most recent updates.

    Cheers,

    Lachlan

Have you tried it with default SportsPress theme?

It orders correctly for me on their theme so my issue definitely lies with my current install of the Champion theme.

Also for me, this issue only occurs on future events, it orders correctly as per the calendar setting on past events.

    Hi Eugene,

    Isn’t Rookie theme the default?

“Rookie is a free starter theme for SportsPress designed by ThemeBoy.”

I checked past events and this descending order issue still seems to be taking place.

    Cheers,

    Lachlan

Ah could be. Since web devs initially set up my site I didn’t see it in default SportsPress form and no sign of the Rookie theme on my build.

Actually it was a default WP theme I tried to prove that SportsPress wasn’t the cause of the wrong ordering.

    Hi @playersleaguebasketball,

As I see from the HERE the current order of the Events is in ASC (Ascending) order. First is time 4:00PM, second 3:00PM etc..

But in the screenshot you shared HERE it seems that you selected DESC (Descending) order. Is that correct?

    What order do you want? 4:00PM – 3:00PM -… (ASC as it is right now) OR 01:00PM – 02:00PM – … (DESC)?

    Thanks,
    Savvas

    Hi Savvas,

Sorry I was under the impression ‘ascending order’ meant going from smallest to largest [ie. 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm].

By your definition I would want descending order with the games at 1pm shown first.

Either way when I create a calendar and change between ascending / descending order then press update it still shows the 4pm games first.

THIS is a link to my test calendar and THESE are my settings.

    Warm regards,

    Hi @playersleaguebasketball,

You should change the Calendar format to List or Block first.

    Thanks,

    Hi Savvas,

I tried changing the layout to list then updating then changing sort order to ascending / descending then updating then changing layout to calendar but the games still show in reverse-order [4pm first].

The list / block layouts show in the correct order but the problem is if you set the status to all they have to scroll through past games to find the next round or if you set the status to scheduled then they cannot see past results.

Calendar is definitely the most practical layout option but I can’t seem to overcome this sort order issue.

    Hi @playersleaguebasketball,

To be able to see both Scheduled and Past Results on the same page then you can use the Shortcode in a Page like the following:

    [event_list id="99" status="future" order="DESC"]
    and
    [event_list id="99" status="published" order="ASC"]

Where id is the ID of your Event List.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

    Hi Savvas,

This does not address my ongoing issue with the calendar showing in only reverse order (ie. latest to earliest times each day).

I tried your EVENT LIST SUGGESTION and it looks cool but there’s no way to edit the headings so both tables have different titles (ie. upcoming games / past games).

Please let me know if the solution to these issues can be attained via a premium subscription because this doesn’t appear to be getting anywhere.

    Hi @playersleaguebasketball

To manually change the title appearance of your Shortcodes then add the following parameter title, so the final Shortcode codes will be something like:
    [event_list id="99" title="FUTURE FIXTURES" status="future" order="DESC"]
    and
    [event_list id="99" title="PAST FIXTURES" status="published" order="ASC"]

If you want to disable the title then you can use an empty string like title="".

    Thanks,
    Savvas
