I’m hoping this is the infamous DNS Propagation issue. I swapped my site over from my previous dns to ns1(2and3).worpress.com this morning. Installed the latest version and nice theme. It looked like it was all running smoothly…. UNTIL!!!

At this point I can’t access my FTP account to see if everything is all there. Why the theme isn’t running. Why I’m twitching and lurching with anticipation. My site is actually up in original WP format, but no theme.

My new friends… please tell me this is the propagation issue and once the switch is official, I’ll have access.

    Thanks

  • Do you own a domain and have it hosted somewhere? And you installed Worpress? If so, WHY did you change your nameservers?

I thought I was following instructions. I must have been reading 2 different things.

To answer your question… Because I think I’m an idiot.

You know what it was. I was working through www.remarpro.com my wife was working through wordpress.com

So let me get this straight…. and thank-you for bearing with me. Now that I’ve uploaded the WP2.6 on my hosted site, changed the DNS back to the original (hosting site), do I need to pay for upgrades like Themes and such?

Wow… I really am smarter than this. Really.

Everything about www.remarpro.com is free. Install it where you want and do with it as ye will.

WordPress.COM is different. You pay for upgrades and they provide all the hosting.

    Thanks HandySolo (and thisisedie)

I have a feeling I just made a couple of generous donations to WordPress.com
