Wherever possible, I’ve updated the text to read “Follow Me”.
But in a few spots, the default “Please Share” text is still visible, or on by default, and I can’t edit it.
Is there a simple fix for this? Thanks in advance!

    Hi @flabeachbum

Could you please share some screenshot (e.g. via https://prnt.sc) or provide more details about the icon or place where you see this text?

By default settings we don’t use such phrase in options of our plugin “Please Share”. But I could find it in some Facebook related code.

    Thank you!

Right now, it’s only showing in my Sidebar widget area:

but not in my Footer widget area:

It’s also operating correctly when used in an editing block format.

The website is a sandbox right now, but you can see for yourself at:

    Hi @flabeachbum,

    Thank you for the feedback!

It seems like the text is independent from our plugin, therefore not set via the options we provide. As my colleague also mentioned, we don’t use that phrase by default.

However, could you kindly also provide us a screenshot (or you can describe by text too) of your settings on our plugin, under section #3, where you select the display rules of our icons?

I tried something slightly different, and unchecked the “Show them via a widget” and saved the settings.

Then in my sidebar widget area, I inserted the shortcode from “Place them manually”, and it works correctly (as in, without the “Please Share” text).

That would lead me to the natural suspect of the Widget as the culprit.

I just downloaded the plugin, extracted the files on my computer, and searched them via Notepad.

The term “Please Share” is repeated several times under the “blocks.build.js” file.

I’m afraid that’s about the end of my knowledge and skill set, but hopefully it could be a pretty easy fix from there.

I also found available in the sidebar this while building a page.

It has “Text before icons?” enabled by default.

    Hi @flabeachbum,

Thank you for your feedback in this regard! I will inform my team to take a look once again through your findings.

In the meanwhile, on the last section your mentioned, are you able to customize the text where it’s written Please Share, or directly remove it if you don’t need it? Or are these settings don’t apply when tried?

    Those settings take effect immediately.

To clarify, that’s using the Gutenberg Block for Social Icons in a blog Post (also the same on Pages). See:

However, the block does not render correctly when trying to use it in a Widget area.

    Which results in this:

So I found the workaround for my problem, but it seems that the Widget interface not rendering correctly is the larger issue overall.

For now, I’m considering this resolved for my needs, but I’m sure it’s worth further investigation on your side.
