I have a site default language is EN but now I want to change the language to CN. We already have the CN translations on the website.

But when we change default language, the previous EN pages turns CN (but no translations) and we have to manually translate it to CN again. How can we just switch it without losing the already translated parts?

    Hello,

Changing the default language will invalidate existing translations. We can’t keep them because the translations are directional, from default language to additional languages, and you’ll also need to change ALL your content directly in the new default language.

The default language is the language your content was written in.

If you wish another language to be the first language, then simply enable:

    • Use TranslatePress Settings – General tab-> Use a subdirectory for the default language -> Yes
    • Reorder the languages

    Kind Regards,

    Anca
