Change date format in Title

Hi,

I tried to setup date format in Title of article after you clik More info…
Curently is YYYY-mm-dd

I understand there is template called single-tdih-event.php but I can only see there something like this

the_title(‘<h2>’.__(‘This Day in History: ‘, ‘this-day-in-history’), ‘</h2>’);

I am not familiar with php and I dont know what should I change to have title format

This day in History: 16. feb 1923
