I am using your staging environment to update and test my site / plugins before I convert to the live site.

Some of the plugins are paid for (Elementor Pro), and I am told the license key only works on the main domain, or in the case of a staging environment, using a sub domain.

In order to comply with Elementors domain criteria, Is there anyway to create a staging environment with your plugin but to change to the URL to a sub domain? EG from the current configuration of mysite.com/stagingenviroment to staging.mysite.com?

    Thanks

    Hi @ydderf1 ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I recommend using WP Staging PRO to create a staging site on a subdomain. This option offers additional features for development, maintenance, backup, and restore, and Elementor licenses are not counted on subdomains like staging.mysite.com. Here’s the guide: WP Staging with Elementor.

Alternatively, to comply with Elementor’s license policy, I suggest switching the Elementor Pro license from your production site to the staging site. You can follow this tutorial for guidance: Switch Elementor License.

Let me know if you need any further assistance!

    Cheers!

    Hi Fayyaz

Thanks so much for the quick response. If the pro version wasn’t so expensive, I would consider that option. For me it would be cheaper to get an additional Elementor license than to change my staging plug in to the pro version.

I will try switching the license to the staging site first.

    Thanks for all your help!
