    Hello,
I have looked at the cover block article in support and it shows a video of changing the position of text on a cover block. And it goes to each of the nine positions.
But when I try this I get a different result. Imagine the cover image as three equal rows. Changing the content position moves the text within the middle row so the changes between top and bottom of that row are small.
Have I explained this sufficiently; is more infor required?
What have I done wrong? I have switched off and on fixed background and that makes no difference. The focal point picker is centred.
On a similar note is there way to make the paragraph smaller. When I select the block it is the size of the text. But if I change the background colour, the block multiplies in size.
    Regards,
    john

Theme CSS can override the text positioning preferences. We’d need a link to the live page to advise in more specific detail. And tell us what positioning and text size you would really prefer. Alternately, seek assistance through your theme’s dedicated support forum. Or if you know CSS coding, use your browser’s element inspector tool to determine the needed Additional CSS for yourself.

The focal point picker relates to the background positioning and does not impact text positioning. This too can possibly be overridden by theme CSS.

    Thanks for this @bcworkz.
I will look at the CSS and add any additional CSS.
I must admit I am finding the docs difficult for wordpress simply because adding a theme changes everything and means the notes don’t correspond to what I am seeing.
As my next forum question will no doubt ask about.
