Change column layout on modern theme

Hello,
I recently switched to the modern style of customizr and I like it very much.
With the old style I customized the width of my content with the help of the tutorial here: https://presscustomizr.com/snippet/changing-the-global-column-layout-of-the-customizr-theme/But after switching to the modern style it is not working anymore. How can I use the new bootstrap layout to replace the span classes with their respective col attributes e.g. replace span10 with col-10?
