change background screen image

  • Hi – can someone tell me slow steps how to change my background from the plain green or blue screen in ocean mist theme to a photo image that I would like to see down the side. I am fairly clueless about any programming so small steps would be really helpful.

    hi – to the person who just replied – I can’t find the css and I can’t find your email!! arrgh! Can you email me back please!

    If you using wordpress 3.0.1 then you have a option to upload your own background

    click on appearance
    click on background
    click on browse and find the background image
    click upload
    once uploaded you will have choice on how you want it displayed

    thanks – but this is where I get confused – I click on appearance and I don’t get a background choice – I think this is due to the theme I have – ocean mist – My drop down appearance options are:
    themes
    widgets
    lightbox
    choose colour scheme
    editor

    where will I find background?

    ok that means that your theme does on have the feature
    have you tried
    choose colour scheme

    you have to change it on your style.css

    need to see url to guide you
