details depend on your theme;

this is the main code for it:

<?php $stripe = ($stripe == 'dark') ? 'bright' : 'dark'; ?>

and then you need to add this as a class to your post’s div; either with ‘post_class()’ as done in the article;
or similar to:

<div class="post <?php echo $stripe; ?>">
...

Hi,
I created a quick sample theme for another topic here, when someone wanted a post list like this forum.

It just uses a counter and a MOD statement to switch the background color.

Download this Twenty Ten child theme and have a look in the loop-index.php
