Change Author URL

I want to change the way the author URL functions. Right now whatever is placed in the box is rewritten by the software to create a custom URL, however we already have an archive page that we want users to go to, and want to use that link instead.

Can you tell us where in the code we need to go to change this, so that whatever URL we place in the field it is used as-is and not rewritten? Thanks so much!
