Challenge with autoplaying a video when it is part of a modal popup

  • Hi, I really like the plugin and the options it provides to play video’s on a website that uses WordPress.

    I do have a question: I would like to play a video that is part of a ‘modal’ window that shows when the user clicks a button. When the modal window shows, the video needs to play automatically (without the need to press another button again).

    However, the modal window is already part of the HTML page that is being generated. Hence – although it’s not visible yet – the video already starts playing in the background after the HTML page is generated and shown in the browser.

    Is there some kind of solution for this?

    You could use the built-in Videopack modal. I just answered a question about it this morning. Otherwise you’ll probably have to disable auto play on the video and customize the script that creates the modal to start playing the video when you open the modal. How you do that depends on how you’re creating the modal.
