CF7 form fields can't be edited after failed validation

In contact form 7, if the form validation fails, form fields can’t be edited until after the captcha is successfully completed again. The fields will highlight when clicked but there is no cursor and text can’t be entered. However, you can still clear fields with text in them, the x appears when the field is selected, clearing any field makes them all editable again.
This is happening in internet explore only, I’m using IE11.
