Ever since I upgraded to CF 5.1.1 I am getting this orange box error only when my theme is in mobile mode – Desktop mode works fine:
“There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”

The CF7 developer states that it has to do with omitting wp_footer(). It looks like wp_footer() is included in all the necessary theme files. I even contacted the themes developer and he agreed.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this behavior and what should be the best way to debug the issue?

If it’s not a wp_footer() problem, it could just be a normal WP email sending issue.

See If You Have Email Problems – most people that work carefully through this list of email sending issues are able to solve their particular problems.

It’s always possible that something changed on your WP install (that you may not even be aware of) at around the same time that you updated.

I get the same issue,
updated CF7, Changed V2 to V3 at Google, changed keys to V3 in plug-in parameters, I get this error : There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.
This happens on the 2 websites which I upgraded CF7.
I’m using Google Recaptcha by Bestwebsoft too and V3 keys are running well with this plug-in.

I have found my mistake.
I have put a form in an event. It dislike this kind of embeding.

Thx for the info @buzztone – I am still having the issue. It must have something to do with the Verve themes mobile settings because when I switch to twenty nineteen and test it in mobile mode or from a mobile device it works fine.

According to this link below it possibly has something to do with not loading some javascript in the footer or the new reCaptcha v3 is just flagging mobile mode as “spammy behavior.”
