• Hi, since some days i get ten-thousands of spammails sended over a form from CF7.

[ Spam deleted. Don’t post that here. ]

Every spammail has a different mailadress as sender and all mails are empty.

I have no idea whats the use of this kind of spam nor any idea how to end that.

Any help would be very much appreciated since its really annoying and it consumes quite a lot of traffic

    Kind regards Axel

Please do not conflate “spam” with “security” or “vulnerable”. That’s simply incorrect and spam has nothing to so with that.

CF7 is just a contact form and nothing else. Try adding spam control via Akismet.

    Hi Jan

    Thanks for your post.

There is an issue with the plug in that has been reported many times but not responded to.

The ‘attacks’ started around a week ago and are escalating. People have tried all methods of spam protection and none are working against this particular attack.

I am now having to start going through all my clients sites to rebuild forms as no update or response has been received yet.

The description of the attack above is the same issue.

1: I did not post SPAM here – i posted data that makes it easier to understand.
Despite that i could not even post Spam here cause the spammails were empty.
2: I run two different forms on that website and only CF7 is affected.
Considering this and what @sterrosie described its highly probable that its an security-gap in CF7.

    Can you tell me more?

    Regards Axel

    Hi Axel

If you read my post that I have linked to there are links to all the reports of this issue but no author response.

I have had 6 more reports of this and now have to start going over 100 websites to rebuild all the forms unless we can get some action on this.
