Certification issue
-
If I try to login to my WP site using Mobile V25.1 on my Android tablet, I get:
Trust anchor for certification not found.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
-
Turns out that this is an Android issue.
When I try with a later version of Android, I can successfully login.
However, there seems to be no facility to edit menus (or any other Appearance area).
All I see after login is https://www.sdc.com.au/photos/pic.jpg
I have been told that my Mobile screen after login should look like this:
https://www.sdc.com.au/photos/pic2.jpg
How come this is so different from that in my previous post?
Hi @scldad,
Ccan you please specifciy on what version of Android does it happen?
Hi again,
I have been told that my Mobile screen after login should look like this:
https://www.sdc.com.au/photos/pic2.jpg
How come this is so different from that in my previous post?
The latest version of the app is 25.4. Please make sure to update the app in order to get the most recent experience and features.
Android version 7.0 with a kernel dated 24/11/20 fails certifjcation.
Android version 14 with a kernel dated 22/10/24 passes.
I cannot find version 25.4 of the mobile app on Google Play.
Where else can I look?
Hi @scldad,
You can find the latest version of the WordPress app on Android here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wordpress.android&hl=en
I hope it helps.
Thank you. That does give me V25.4 ( of Mobile and Jetpack) but the post-login page is still the same as before: no Personalize section so I cannot edit menus. (That is pic.jpg above rather than pic2.jpg above.)
Also, I cannot edit my pages as it only supports block editor and I many of my pages include custom code/css which is not supported. Not even images can be edited.
Before I give up on this app, how does one logout?
Hey @scldad – I checked your screenshots and it appears you have manually added the site to the WordPress app. Currently, the option to personalize the home tab/menu in the app is not available in the WordPress app. If you want this option, you can?connect the site to Jetpack?and?download the Jetpack App,?and then when you will log in to the Jetpack App using your WordPress.com account login credentials, you will see the option to personalize the home tab/menu at the extreme bottom in the?My Site?option of the Jetpack App.

Also, I cannot edit my pages as it only supports block editor and I many of my pages include custom code/css which is not supported. Not even images can be edited.
You can turn off the Block Editor option by going to My Site ? Select a Site ? Site Settings in the App.
Also please note that currently the App supports only limited Blocks in Block Editor mode but we are working to add more Blocks in future release so if you are using any Block that is not supported in the App, you may not be able to edit or use that Block in the App.
Thanks for the input. I started following your suggestions but was confused by the wordpress acount side.
I don’t want/need any of the “features” offered by such an account (apart maybe for the mobile access bit) and am concerned by the way it talks about connecting/transferring my domain.
I think I will survive with phpMyAdmin to edit my menu entries. I’m not overseas without a laptop that often.
Hey @scldad!
I don’t want/need any of the “features” offered by such an account (apart maybe for the mobile access bit) and am concerned by the way it talks about connecting/transferring my domain.
We don’t want you to transfer domain, we just require your to connect domain with Jetpack so that you can use the features you are looking for in the Jetpack app. The connection of Jetpack to site is essential for Jetpack App for managing your site on the go, accessing stats, posting content, and receiving downtime alerts. Without this link, these app-based tools won’t function for the site.
Thanks for the inputs but I have decided to not bother with the mobile app as I can easily do the required menu editing via phpMyAdmin when I am overseas.
Hi @scldad,
Thank you for keeping us updated and for giving the app a try. I completely understand your decision to stick with phpMyAdmin for your needs while traveling. If you ever decide to revisit the app or have any other questions down the line, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always here to help.
Best regards!
