Is there any kind of certification for WP plugins that have passed your analysis for safety? It would be GREAT if you had something like this where developers could enhance their plugin’s popularity by showing their commitment to website security with a cert badge of some sort.

For example, I need a free plugin that I can put on many sites that blocks all countries except for the one the site does business in. THIS WILL REDUCE HACKING ATTEMPTS DRAMATICALLY. I’ve tried and like IP2Location, but it’s not friendly with cache plugins. I’m getting ready to try IPLocationBlock, but it seems like it might be questionable.

I would think a developer that wants to build credibility and trust in their work would want to be recognized as a member of your “trusted developer” program.

    If you had one…

Hi @kernvy, thanks for your suggestion.

I’ve put your idea to the team, where all features or improvements to our offerings are discussed. We can’t follow-up on that process here on the forums.

Our Threat Intelligence platform along with the Wordfence scan itself are excellent assurances that we and the WordPress community are constantly working towards keeping plugins safe: https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/

    Many thanks,
    Peter.
