CDN works on home page, but not on post pages

    Hello,

    I subscribed a few hours ago to a Content-Delivery Network (CDN), and I added it successfully in the CDN tab of W3 Total Cache. Nothing happened immediately, but after 10-15 minutes, the images of the home page got replaced with the CDN copies. Great! The problem is that, on the post pages, the images are still not CDN copies. I don’t understand why. The images on the home page and those on the post pages should be the same set of images: they are the same files. But for some reason, W3 Total Cache makes CDN replacements only on the home page, and not on the post pages.

    Any ideas?

    I spent hours on this problem, and tried about every possible configuration, but couldn’t get the CDN to work with W3 Total Cache (except on the home page). So, unfortunately, after being a loyal user of W3 Total Cache for a few years now, I had to diss the plugin. I got the CDN working with WP Super Cache (works on the whole site). Also, it seems that WP Super Cache is a way more maintained plug-in: last update was on 2012-10-5, while W3 Total Cache’s last update was on 2011-8-26. The old age starts to show.

    Interesting. I’m just now thinking of integrating a CDN, and your experience doesn’t bode well for using it in conjunction with W3 Total Cache. Think I’ll take a look at WP Super Cache, thanks.

    I’ve set up w3tc with CDN on multiple sites with no issues whatsoever. Have you tried clearing your page cache?

    @bheadrick: Of course I cleared the cache, and not just the page cache. After each clearance, it took 10-15 min for the CDN replacements to appear on the home page, which is odd: what is W3 Total Cache doing for 10-15 min? Furthermore, the CDN replacements never appeared on the other pages, even though I waited a whole night. With WP Super Cache, on the other hand, the CDN replacements are instantaneous and work everywhere. Anyway, this is just my personal experience. If you have no CDN issues with W3 Total Cache, then good for you.

    Have you tried the latest version?

    Frederick, I’m having the same issue. You can check my blog: Dukeo.

    For the homepage, everything is working fine.

    However, for the posts, the page gets cached properly (I can see the files being created in the cache folder), but if you check the source code, you’ll see that the CDN is not being used.

    Moreover, in the source code you’ll notice that the “commented lines” are missing at the end of the page. I suspect that W3TC is not processing anything on the page before caching the .html file.

    After further investigation:
    – Homepage is being processed and cached,
    – Category pages are being processed and cached,
    – Date archives are being processed and cached,
    – SOME Tags pages are being processed and cached,
    – some OTHER Tags pages are being cached without being processed,
    – Pages and Posts are being cached without being processed,
    – Custom Post_Type archives are being cached without being processed.
