Hi. Just a brief word of advice when configuring your PayPal buttons in sandbox mode.

When I configured paypal as payment method. After creating the sandbox and live API keys, I enabled the plugin to use sandbox mode.

Then I created nine subscription payment buttons (PayPal subscription new API) to use in the payment pages. After a few days tweaking the visuals and testing the buttons, I was ready to go live. But when I went live, PayPal was not working at all, only in sandbox mode. So, after tinkering with both the plugin and the PayPal configuration, I found the PayPal error event log, and found that I had two types of errors GET and POST and the description was “The specified resource does not exist.”

So, that lead me to find that the buttons created while having sandbox mode enable, only exist in the sandbox realm, so switching to live mode DOES NOT makes them available in live mode on PayPal.

Bottom line: I had to create the buttons again while having LIVE mode enabled, not sandbox.

TBH I don’t recall reading this in the documentation, but it might be there somewhere.

I hope I made myself clear, and that this helps someone.
    Regards

Hi, thank you for sharing your findings.

Unfortunately we don’t have any sandbox documentation because we don’t really support issues with sandbox mode. Our plugin already works in Live Mode. As you clearly pointed out, buttons created in sandbox mode will not work in live mode. Sandbox mode and live mode are totally different.

    Kind regards.
