• Hi,

I have just sent the last few days trying to figure out why I can’t open Updates & Themes pages in my WP Dashboard. I keep getting Error 524 (from Cloudflare), meaning that the page is unresponsive.

Also ever time I try to reload the page, server resources (Physical & Virtual memory) get chewed up (about 80M each reload), so if you try to reload the page enough times, it temporarily crashes the whole site.

I suspect that there is some sort of incompatibility between this plugin & LiteSpeed Cache, because if I were to set Disable All Features to ON (under LiteSpeed Cache > Settings > Debug), then Updates & Themes load just fine. Similarly, if I were to instead deactivate WP Rollback, the website starts working fine too.

    Not sure what’s causing what.

I am running latest version of WP (5.2.1) with a Divi theme, latest version of LiteSpeed Cache & WP Rollback.

    Regards,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,

That’s very perplexing. I can assure you though that WP Rollback is about as light-weight of a plugin as it comes. It doesn’t actually run anything until you click the Rollback button, so — as you mentioned — most likely something else is interfering.

Do you have a local copy of your site, or a live staging environment where you can deactivate all plugins safely? The free Health Check plugin is helpful if you HAVE to test on a live site: https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/troubleshoot-wordpress-websites-health-check/

My guess at this point is that it’s 99% certainly a plugin conflict of some sort. If you can eliminate the potential causes with some plugin deactivating that would help a lot.

    Thanks!

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I do. I will get to it as soon as I can, once I will deal with the workload.

For now I have found a temporary solution – I just disabled the WP Rollback, which seemed to have solved the problem, and will be re-enabling it only if I ever need to roll back any plugins/themes.

My guess at this point is that it’s 99% certainly a plugin conflict of some sort.

My initial hunch is that it’s either LiteSpeed Cache (since that was my initial finding) or maybe Github Updater (because it’s another updates manager for WP).

    Regards,
    Alex
