Category XML sitemap – invalid URL on webmaster tools

    Hi,

    When I have generated the XML sitemaps from this plugin all of the XML sitemaps are fine with the exception of the category XML sitemap.

    Because the sitemap does not show the base URL this falgs as an error on webmaster tools:

    This is not a valid URL. Please correct it and resubmit.

    I could just manually add the category sitemap, but this would be a significant step backwards as this plugin updates the sitemap entries when categories are added and removed.

    I have updated to the latest version 3.7.1, but unfortunately this is still an issue.

    Please can you investigate this issue.

    Sometimes strange behavior may be caused by a plugin or theme conflict. The fastest way to rule out conflicts is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Sixteen. If this resolves the issue, you have a conflict and should activate one plugin at a time until you locate the conflict. Finally, after all plugins are active, switch to your theme. This will narrow down the conflict to a specific plugin or theme.

    I will look into this and get back to you if this is an issue that is not affected by the theme/plugins outside of yoast’s plugin.

    It looks like there was an issue with the theme in this instance, once I switched themes to a default wordpress theme re-activated the SEO plugin viewed the sitemap and then switched the theme back to my intended theme the issue resolved itself.

    Hopefully this helps someone with a similar problem when it comes to the base url is missing from a category sitemap.
